Durable Medical Equipment

At The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland Division, we understand the importance of providing comprehensive care that extends beyond traditional medical treatments. Our Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our patients, ensuring they have access to essential medical equipment and devices to support their recovery and enhance their quality of life.

What Is DMEPOS?

DMEPOS, an acronym for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies, encompasses a broad range of medical devices and aids designed to assist individuals in managing their health conditions and improving their quality of life. For Medicare purposes, DME refers to equipment that can withstand repeated use, serves a medical purpose, and is primarily used in the context of illness or injury.

Typically intended for home use, DME includes items like alternating pressure pads, blood glucose monitors, canes, commodes, CPAP devices, crutches, hospital beds, infusion pumps, walkers, wheelchairs, and more. These essential tools play a crucial role in supporting patients' rehabilitation, mobility, and overall well-being, allowing them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Durable Medical Equipment

We offer a wide range of DMEPOS products and services tailored to address various orthopedic and medical needs. Whether you require mobility aids, prosthetic devices, orthotic braces, or medical supplies, our dedicated team is committed to providing personalized solutions to meet your unique requirements.

Following your evaluation with one of our experienced doctors, our specialists will work closely with you to select the appropriate equipment and ensure a proper fit. We understand that every patient is unique, and we take pride in offering customized solutions to address your specific concerns and requirements.

In addition to orthopedic braces and supports, we also offer a wide range of prosthetics, including artificial limbs and devices designed to restore mobility and function. Our prosthetics specialists are highly trained in the latest technologies and techniques to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients.

Furthermore, our DMEPOS department provides a variety of walking aids, including crutches, canes, and walkers, to assist with mobility and rehabilitation. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or seeking support for an injury, our comprehensive range of walking aids can help you regain independence and mobility.
