Nicholas P. Grosso, MD
Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. Nicholas Grosso is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. Dr. Grosso earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a transitional internship and orthopedic residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Grosso is a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as:
- Chief of Orthopaedics at Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox, Kentucky
- Chief of Orthopaedics at Kimbrough Army Community Hospital in Fort Meade, Maryland
- Chief of Orthopaedics at General Hospital in Seoul, South Korea
- Flight surgeon for the Aviation Brigade, 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia
Dr. Grosso is the recipient of numerous honors and recognitions, including the Meritorious Service Medal; Davis Award, Department of Surgery from Walter Reed Medical Center; Kuwaiti Liberation Medal; National Service Defense Medal; Southwest Asia Defense Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Distinguished Military Graduate; Dean’s List; Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society; and ROTC scholarship.
Dr. Nicholas Grosso is a member of the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Maryland Orthopedic Association. His orthopedic research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Grosso is also president of The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics and was formerly the chief of orthopedics at Howard County General Hospital.
