Dr. George Brouillet retired on January 3, 2022.
Dr. Brouillet is beloved by patients and has made a lasting impact on the local medical community. Upon his retirement, he was presented with a bronzed “Instrument” or “bone hook” that he utilized throughout his years as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Dr. George Brouillet Jr. is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with more than 43 years of experience specializing in knee and shoulder surgery. Dr. Brouillet earned his medical degree and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Dr. Brouillet is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Medical Association, Maryland Orthopedic Association, Baltimore City Medical Society, Maryland Orthopedic Association, and Eastern Orthopedic Association.
Dr. Brouillet is also the Chief of Surgery and Director of the Joint Replacement Center at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopedic Institute (formerly Kernan Hospital). We are excited to announce that George Brouillet, Jr., M.D. has most recently been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute. The Board is responsible for overseeing clinical and financial status, strategic short and long-term planning for the hospital, and the integration of the facility with the University of Maryland Medical System.
Dr. Brouillet has been closely affiliated with and dedicated to the hospital for more than 45 years. He will continue to serve as Chief of Surgery and Director of the Joint Replacement Program. He is also a member of the Medical Executive Committee and serves on several other hospital committees. He is a member of the National Football League Injury Grievance Panel, Interscholastic Athletic Advisory Committee for the Howard County High Schools, and Medical Advisory Board for the Columbia Association.
Dr. Brouillet serves as a Team Physician for Centennial High School. He is the past team physician for the Baltimore Blast professional soccer team and past president of the Maryland Orthopedic Association.
