Carmelo Cimato, DPT
Carmelo Cimato completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercyhurst University in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy, and a minor in Exercise Science. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. During his doctoral education, Carmelo completed multiple clinical rotations focusing on outpatient orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Additionally, Carmelo spent time volunteering with the Mighty Penguins Strength and Conditioning Organization, which is an adaptive Sled Hockey team focused on encouraging athletes of different physical and cognitive disabilities.
Carmelo also obtained a certification in Blood Flow Restriction Training through Northeast Seminars and furthered his knowledge in concussion management and rehabilitation through the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. His primary areas of interest include sports rehabilitation and concussion therapy, primarily due to previous injuries he personally experienced while participating in high school athletics. Carmelo enjoys working with athletes of all ages, but particularly Varsity and Collegiate levels due to the higher intensity of competition.
In his free time, Carmelo Cimato enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his dogs, watching sports, especially the Buffalo Bills, and participating in recreational sports, such as soccer and volleyball.
