Orsam “Sami” Ahmed, DPT, CMTPT
- A Maryland native, Sami Ahmed completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a focus in biomechanics from the University of Maryland in 2012. He then completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Sami has served OACM as a Clinic Director for various locations for the last 5 years and now serves as the Director of Therapy Business Operations. Throughout his career, he has focused his efforts on helping athletes of all ages and backgrounds return to their sport after injury. Sami brings a unique set of skills to the Orthopedic Associates of Central Maryland Physical Therapy team with over 10 years of experience in competitive martial arts and an additional seven years of gymnastics and acrobatics experience. Outside of work, Sami Ahmed is an avid Lecturer and Instructor for the University of Maryland School of Public Health. His coursework is emphasized around Neurophysiology, Motor Control, and advanced practices associated with Athlete specific training principles.
Danielle James, DPT, CMTPT
- A Howard County native, Danielle James graduated from the University of Delaware in 2012 with a degree in kinesiology and applied physiology. She then earned her doctorate in physical therapy from University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2015. Danielle specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine, with an emphasis on manual physical therapy for the spine and extremities. She has taken several courses on the Maitland® Approach, which is a diagnostic technique that utilizes assessment and treatment of the patient's signs and symptoms to develop an effective treatment plan. She is also trained and certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars. Having been heavily involved in soccer and lacrosse in her younger years, Danielle James has always had a passion for sports and enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Since becoming a mother, she’s recently developed an interest in low back and pelvic pain as it relates to pregnancy and postpartum and has taken several Herman Wallace pelvic rehabilitation courses. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, running, cycling, and traveling.
Morgan O’Clair, DPT, MTC, CSCS
- Morgan O’Clair earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of St. Augustine in Florida. She has since completed additional coursework through the university, focusing on spinal and extremity mobilization and myofascial manipulation. Morgan earned her manual therapy certification (MTC) in January 2017, and she is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). In addition, Morgan is trained in the Graston Technique® and she is a RockTape (kinesiology tape) provider. Morgan O’Clair is passionate about sports medicine and working with athletes of all ages. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and traveling.
Russ Patti, DPT, MTC, CMTPT
- Russ Patti earned his bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences from York College of Pennsylvania where he also played collegiate baseball. He then went on to earn his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, Florida. While in school, Russ completed various rotations in specialized spine clinics and general orthopedic settings. After school, Russ earned his Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) and was also trained and certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars. He also has a passion for sports rehabilitation. Russ enjoys working with all levels of athletes, but particularly with high school athletes because of their passion. In his spare time, Russ Patti enjoys playing all types of sports, spending time with his friends and family, and traveling.
Kyle Pearce, DPT
- Kyle Pearce completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012 with a degree in kinesiological sciences. He then earned his doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. With over 11 years of competitive gymnastics and four years of acrobatic and aerial experience, Kyle has been able to combine his love for calisthenics and sports medicine to help athletes of all ages return to their sport. He additionally enjoys treating the hand, wrist and elbow both post-operatively and in the pursuit of eliminating pain without surgery. In his free time, Kyle Pearce enjoys an active lifestyle and participates in rock climbing, backpacking, hunting and anything outdoors.

Jennifer Alcott, DPT
- Jennifer Alcott earned her Bachelor degrees in Dance and Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park where she was also a member of the Gymkana Troupe. She then went on to earn her DPT at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, TX. During her clinical rotations, Jennifer worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings in various states including Louisiana and Texas. Jennifer is native to Howard County and while she was Homeschooled for the start of her education, she also attended Howard Community College. Jennifer Alcott enjoys working with all ages and types of injuries and looks forward to furthering her clinical experience and knowledge at OACM. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys working on home repair projects, crafting, and spending time with her friends and family.
Alyssa Alexander, DPT
- Alyssa Alexander graduated from Penn State in 2012 with a degree in Kinesiology. She then earned her doctorate in physical therapy from University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2015. Alyssa specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine, with continuing education courses in Maitland, Graston, and Kinesiotaping. She has a passion for sports and enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Outside the office, Alyssa Alexander enjoys spending time with family, hiking, and traveling.
Deborah Andes, PT
- Deborah Andes graduated from the University of Maryland in 1996 with a master’s degree in physical therapy. Upon graduation, she worked in outpatient orthopedics. She had a passion to work with the older population and a desire to participate in medical missions. Deborah spent 14 years treating the well elderly with multiple medical problems, addressing balance, gait, post-surgery, vestibular, and incontinence problems. She has gone on three medical mission trips, twice to Honduras, and once to Ghana where she addressed a variety of patient needs and focused on education. At OACM, she is enjoying treating a variety of patients, along with assisting patients to return to work through a work conditioning program. Deborah Andes believes in individualized patient care and educating her patients about their condition to allow them the ability to understand and be active participants in their care and recovery.
Luis Arriaza, DPT, ATC
- Luis Arriaza attended George Mason University, earning a B.S. in athletic training. Luis then graduated from the University of Maryland-Baltimore with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). His passion for rehabilitation and interest in the athletic population grew as he got the opportunity to work as an athletic trainer in multiple sports medicine settings that ranged from recreational sports to division 1 collegiate athletes. Luis Arriaza is passionate about helping athletes and individuals of all ages reach their personal goals throughout the rehabilitation process. He loves helping people get back to activities they enjoy and maximizing their performance in those activities. Luis enjoys spending his free time with his family, working out, competing in Spartan Races, and restoring classic cars.
Emily Baeza, DPT
- Emily Baeza is originally from Orange County, California. She moved to the east coast to attend Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she also played on the D I soccer team. She received her Bachelor degree in Health Sciences in 2020. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania in 2022. During her time at Arcadia, she completed a variety of rotations in hospital-based outpatient orthopaedics, neuro, and vestibular settings. Beginning in 2023, Emily will be completing a one-year orthopaedic residency program through Arcadia University to continue to develop higher level critical thinking and knowledge regarding a variety of orthopedic conditions. In her free time Emily Baeza likes to explore Maryland, spend time with family and friends, and cheer for Philadelphia sports teams.
Mary Beth Massari, PT
- Mary Beth Massari is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Physical Therapy. She has over 30 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and has treated a wide variety of orthopedic-related conditions in various settings. Mary Beth was clinical director of physical therapy for 15 years prior to joining MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab (MASTR) in 2008. During that time, she specialized in joint replacements and was published on rehabilitation following total knee replacements. At MASTR, Mary Beth Massari continues her focus on general orthopedic rehabilitation with a special interest in total joint replacement. Outside of work she most enjoys spending time with her family and is a loyal Terps fan!
Molly Bishop, DPT
- Molly Bishop is a Howard County native who attended Saint Francis University where she was a member of the D1 field hockey team. She received her bachelor's degree in exercise physiology in 2018 and became a certified exercise physiologist shortly after. She continued at Saint Francis to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2020. She has always been passionate about caring for others and sports medicine. Using her experience as a former athlete, she is dedicated to helping others reach their fitness and health goals. In her free time, Molly Bishop enjoys hanging out with family and friends, trying new things, and spending time with her dog.
Mollye Blaxberg, DPT, CMTPT
- Mollye Blaxberg earned both her undergraduate and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, completing her studies in 2016. She has always had a passion for sports, having grown up playing tennis, basketball, and soccer, and she even continued to play tennis at the club level while attending university. Mollye has completed additional coursework studying neurological rehabilitation and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) from the Institute of Physical Art, and orthopedic spinal and peripheral conditions through the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. She is also trained in the Graston Technique and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars. Outside of work, Mollye Blaxberg still enjoys playing tennis, cycling, reading, and going hiking with her dog.
Carmelo Cimato, DPT
- Carmelo Cimato completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercyhurst University in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy, and a minor in Exercise Science. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. During his doctoral education, Carmelo completed multiple clinical rotations focusing on outpatient orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Additionally, Carmelo spent time volunteering with the Mighty Penguins Strength and Conditioning Organization, which is an adaptive Sled Hockey team focused on encouraging athletes of different physical and cognitive disabilities. Carmelo also obtained a certification in Blood Flow Restriction Training through Northeast Seminars and furthered his knowledge in concussion management and rehabilitation through the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. His primary areas of interest include sports rehabilitation and concussion therapy, primarily due to previous injuries he personally experienced while participating in high school athletics. Carmelo enjoys working with athletes of all ages, but particularly Varsity and Collegiate levels due to the higher intensity of competition. In his free time, Carmelo Cimato enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his dogs, watching sports, especially the Buffalo Bills, and participating in recreational sports, such as soccer and volleyball.
Alyssa Cleary, DPT, CMTPT
- Alyssa Cleary received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Maryland (Go Terps!), and then went to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Marymount University. Since graduating she has taken further courses in advancing her Manual Therapy skills, being Maitland trained, has taken classes to become Graston trained, and got her certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling. Alyssa enjoys treating orthopedic conditions of all kinds and specifies her treatments to each patient’s unique needs. In her spare time, Alyssa Cleary enjoys rock climbing, cycling, yoga, hiking and being outside with her husband, two dogs Maxine and Bucky, and little girl.
Adam Corn, DPT
- Adam Corn is a Baltimore County native and alumni of Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Adam earned his Bachelor degree in Exercise Science from Towson University in 2016. After graduation, Adam worked as a Physical Therapy Technician at Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland (OACM) until he began pursuing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2018. During one of his clinical experiences, Adam was able to learn from a Fellow of the American Academy of the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) at the University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedics at Camden Yards. Since returning to OACM as a DPT in 2021, Adam Corn enjoys treating many different conditions affecting individuals across the lifespan. In his spare time, Adam enjoys lifting weights, hiking with his fiancée, and playing guitar with his friends.
Alexander Dragonuk, DPT
- Alex Dragonuk comes to Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland after 10 years in private practice with a heavy focus on manual therapy treatment for all areas of the body. Alex received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine in 2012. Alex is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and completed a 3-year residency in orthopedic manual therapy. Alex is also certified in dry needling. Alex Dragonuk believes that one cannot properly treat a dysfunction without treating the individual as a whole, therefore, he tailors each treatment program to the individual patient. He takes pride in making the physical therapy process an enjoyable experience for the patient. Alex is a Baltimore native who attended Loyola Blakefield High School and completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Tech. He now lives in Catonsville with his wife and three young children who keep him joyfully busy.
Karyn Dulaney, DPT, MDT, CMP, FMR, CMTPT
- Karyn Dulaney obtained her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 2007. After nine years of experience as a physical therapist in orthopedic and sports medicine, Karyn was happy to join the MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab team in January 2016. Karyn Dulaney is a certified provider of the McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) and a certified Mulligan Concept Practitioner (CMP). She is also a fellow of Applied Functional Science and has a certification in Functional Manual Reaction® (FMR) through a fellowship program of the internationally acclaimed Gray Institute. Karyn uses evidence-based medicine in conjunction with biomechanical analysis to create individualized, functional treatment plans that enable her patients to reach their physical therapy goals. An avid endurance athlete herself, she enjoys working with runners in the clinical setting. Karyn is a certified Enhance Running technician, which enables her to coach runners to increase efficiency and prevent injuries. She has coached runners on injury prevention through various clinics at running stores and high schools. In her free time, Karyn enjoys hiking with her dog, spending time with her family, and participating in marathons, triathlons, and adventure races. Karyn hopes to inspire, motivate, and enthuse others to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Wendy Getman, PTA
- Wendy Getman is a native of Northern New York. After graduating from SUNY ESF with an Environmental Science degree, Wendy joined the Coast Guard. She spent 10 years doing environmental compliance and moved up and down the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. Wendy has always been active playing soccer, basketball, and softball in high school, continued to play soccer in college, and now plays recreational soccer and ice hockey. After leaving the Coast Guard Wendy wanted to help people live an active life and received her PTA degree from Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in 2023. While in school Wendy completed rotations in general outpatient orthopedics and had the opportunity to complete a sports medicine rotation where she had the chance to work with a population ranging from active adults, high school athletes, and D1 college athletes. In her free time, Wendy enjoys running, lifting, skiing, and hiking with her wife and dogs.
Vickie Hopp, DPT, ATC, CMTPT
- Vickie Hopp is a native of Maryland and graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005. She then moved onto Shenandoah University to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Master's in Athletic Training. Vickie specializes in sports medicine and has trained with the University of Maryland Terrapins, focusing on competitive cheer, football, and basketball. She enjoys treating athletes of all ages, from young athletes on club teams to the weekend warriors. Getting her CMTPT through Myopain Seminars, Vickie Hopp is trained in functional dry needling to further her treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, going to the gym to lift weights and doing Zumba classes, traveling, and eating yummy foods.
Neelesh Katkar, PT
- Neelesh graduated with a bachelor's in Physical Therapy in 2009 from K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai, India. After that, he worked in a clinic focusing on orthopedics and sports rehabilitation for two years. Neelesh then took a sabbatical, pursuing a postgraduate diploma in sports and exercise physical therapy from Cardiff University in Wales, United Kingdom. Upon returning, he started to work again with his previous employer and also worked in the Indian Olympics juniors boxing camp for two years. During this stint, Neelesh was spotted by an organization working in the Indian Seniors Olympics, which recruited him to handle three sports for them: badminton, javelin, and Olympic shooting.Neelesh started understanding the science behind human well-being in the Olympic shooting. He began developing his physical therapy approach, which encompassed knowledge of myofascial structures, including their internal and external influences. After coming to the United States in 2018, Neelesh implemented this understanding with much appreciation from patients, co-workers, and supervisors. He also pursued and completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College, New York. Based on his experience, Neelesh has developed a keen interest and efficacy in myofascial release and chronic pain management to complement his understanding of orthopedic conditions and anatomy, diagnosis, and management. In his free time, he continues to build upon this approach by updating himself with current research. Nothing gives him more joy in this world than playing with his children, who are and will continue to be the center of his universe.
Kyle Martin, PT
- Kyle Martin discovered his love for physical therapy in high school after sustaining multiple student athlete-related injuries while growing up in Montgomery County. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and later his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2013. Kyle has worked with CAO since graduating and specializes in general orthopedics and post-surgical rehabilitation. He has a special interest in treating shoulders and knees due to his own injuries and experience as a student athlete. Kyle is experienced in a variety of treatment modalities and likes incorporating myofascial release techniques to address musculoskeletal dysfunctions. In his free time, Kyle Martin enjoys spending time with his family and dog, going on food adventures, cheering for his fantasy football team, and holding on to hope for his real-life football team (Washington).
Matthew Masangcay, PT
- A Maryland native from Prince George’s County, Matthew completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at University of Maryland in 2020. He then continued his education in 2021 at Andrews University located in Berrien Springs, MI. During his time as a student physical therapist he provided pro bono PT services in Tanzania in 2022 and continued to volunteer in local towns near Andrews University. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy in August 2024. He has always had a passion in helping others and will continue to do so with every one of his patients. During his free time expect to find him either playing basketball or at the gym lifting weights.
Duane Mellinger, DPT
- Duane Mellinger graduated from Central Pennsylvania College in 2007 with a Physical Therapy Assistant degree and worked as a PTA for 12 years. He continued his education and earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas, Medical Branch in 2019. He has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics. He joined the team at MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab in the spring of 2015. Duane believes in empowering patients with the skills they need to manage their bodies as well as interacting with them to find the best options available for their specific orthopedic needs. He has developed a wide range of skills and techniques to use in rehabilitation to assist this process. He has extensive training in the McKenzie method of treatment, primarily for neck and back issues. He has focused continuing education training on rehabilitating runners and enjoys helping competitive and recreational athletes get back to their activities. In his free time, Duane Mellinger can often be found running or biking on the trails of Columbia. He also does high-intensity interval training to stay in shape. Duane and his wife enjoy reading, having intellectual debates, watching movies, and walking together.
Nick Misener, DPT
- Nicholas Misener earned his doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis and joined MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab in June 2015. While in school, he completed four clinical rotations with the primary focus on outpatient orthopedics, one of which was at Colorado College working with collegiate athletes. Nicholas Misener has taken continuing education courses centered on manual techniques, including the Graston Technique® and Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy, with plans to become a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT). He lives a very active lifestyle and enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking in his free time.

Kaelin Nord, DPT
- Kaelin Nord graduated from Duquesne University having completed Bachelor degrees in both Biology and Health Sciences, while also playing Division 1 Women's Lacrosse. She continued her time at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her program, she completed various clinical rotations in general orthopedic, neurologic, and pediatric settings. Since graduating from PT school, Kaelin Nord has experience working in neuro rehab, home health, and outpatient orthopedic clinics. Growing up playing competitive lacrosse, soccer, and basketball, Kaelin has a passion for helping athletes return to their sport. She is dedicated to providing individualized care for patients of all ages and function levels to maximize their quality of life. Outside of the office, Kaelin enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and gentle-giant Newfoundland, hiking, traveling and trying new restaurants.
Julie Perkins, DPT
- Julie Perkins joined MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab in October 2014, shortly after earning her doctorate in physical therapy at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She enjoys working with a variety of patients in an orthopedic setting to improve their quality of life. Julie Perkins has attended several different continuing education courses to advance her manual treatment skills and expand her knowledge of the most current techniques available to improve patient outcomes. In her free time, Julie's interests include hiking, camping, and leading an overall healthy lifestyle. She also enjoys working on house projects and cooking with her husband.
Maureen Velasco, DPT
- Maureen Velasco completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Ithaca College in New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Health Studies and a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She spent nearly 9 years practicing in a hospital-based outpatient orthopedic clinic in Western New York developing her skills as a general orthopedic clinician. Her background gives her a breadth of knowledge related to pre- and post-operative orthopedic surgeries, as well as extensive training in concussion rehabilitation. Maureen Velasco prides herself on personalized treatment plans to help patients reach the goals which are most important to them. She has worked as part of a multi-disciplinary sports medicine team during her tenure in Western New York, lending her experience in treating high school and collegiate athletes. She particularly enjoys helping people return to work or sport following injury or surgery. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, trying new foods and visiting her family in New York. The most fun she has is raising her two wild boys. She recently relocated to Howard County from Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!), and is excited to explore what the area has to offer.
Helena Rogers, PT
- Helena Rogers graduated from Stevenson University with a degree in Biology in 2018. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Alvernia University located in Reading, PA. Helena has also obtained her Certification in Dry Needling through American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT). You will find Helena frequently performing percutaneous electrical stimulation with Functional Dry Needling, in order to facilitate healing for all types of injuries. Helena's primary areas of interest include sports rehabilitation, as well as working with complex cases that could involve pediatrics or traumatic orthopedic injuries. As a previous collegiate field hockey athlete, you will most likely find her outdoors playing sports or hiking with her German Shepard, Cassie.
Susan Sia, PT
- Susan Sia earned her Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College, Philippines in 1999. Looking for a successful future for herself and her family, she migrated to the United States in 2004. Before she joined Mid-Atlantic Sports Therapy and Rehab in May 2022, she was working as an outpatient physical therapist in many different locations in the states of New York, Maryland, and Colorado. She was then given an opportunity to work with patients of all ages specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. She has brought her 19 years of experience in the United States helping patients reach their highest level of independent functioning. Susan Sia is a certified kinesiotape practitioner. She also earned continuing education in Trigger Point Therapy, and other manual therapy techniques. She completed post-secondary training in rehabilitation of postsurgical orthopedic patients involving the shoulder, hip, and knee, and attended a seminar for an evidenced-based exercise application for the aging adult. She enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and always believes that treating every patient with compassion is a substantial factor for quality healthcare. Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with her family and friends. You can also find her traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
Becca Shakespeare, PT, MTC, CDNT, SFMA
- Becca graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. She completed her manual therapy certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine, Florida, in October 2004, and she is certified in the Graston Technique®, trigger point dry needling (CDNT), and selective functional movement assessment (SFMA) Becca enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic patients, incorporating wellness and total health into her treatment planning. She specifically enjoys post-surgical rehabilitation and has also been involved with personal training and group fitness programming since 1994. Becca’s husband, Aaron, is a physician assistant for Dr. Sam Sydney. Outside of work, Becca enjoys spending time with Aaron and their two daughters skiing, traveling, and hiking with their dog, Juliet Rose.
- Aaron Shakespeare has been working with Dr. Sam Sydney since 2002. Prior to completing his physician assistant certification, he worked as an orthopedic physical therapist. As a PT, Aaron Shakespeare gained a tremendous amount of experience evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions, which enabled him to assist Dr. Sydney in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of orthopedic issues and seamlessly guide patients through the rehabilitation expectations of their condition. Aaron’s goal is to provide all patients with the highest level of communication and education to help them choose a treatment plan that will allow them the highest quality of life.

Laura DeFrancesco, PTA, CKTP
- Laura DeFrancesco earned her undergraduate degree in exercise science from Salisbury University and then obtained her PTA degree from Carroll Community College in 2004. She has since worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics with some exposure in workers’ compensation, pre/post-partum, pulmonary, and pediatrics. Laura joined MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab in July 2016. She holds a certification in Kinesio Taping (CKTP) and continues to take multiple continuing education courses specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation. Laura DeFrancesco lives in Howard County with her husband and her two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and animals and, of course...GO, RAVENS!
Lori DeVage, PTA
- Lori DeVage is a 2002 graduate of the PTA program at Penn State, Mont Alto, Pennsylvania. Following graduation, she specialized in aquatic therapy at a hospital based out-patient clinic where she worked with a broad range of patients. She then transitioned to out-patient orthopedics and sports medicine, all the while, gaining experience and developing her skills for more than 20 years. That experience has allowed her to feel confident working with all ages and diagnoses. Lori’s favorite part of working at OACM is the team atmosphere and personal approach to patient care. Outside of work, Lori DeVage enjoys travel- especially to historical sites, outdoor adventures, playing board games and spending time with her family and friends.
Connor Donahue, PTA
- Connor Donahue is a Carroll County native who grew up in Eldersburg MD. Connor earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Salisbury University in 2014. He then started at OACM in 2015 as a therapy technician, before earning his PTA degree from Carroll Community College in 2020. While in school, Connor Donahue had experience working in outpatient orthopaedics where patients had a variety of sport injuries and post-surgical rehab. He also had a chance to work with inpatient population during his rotation at the VA hospital. Connor then rejoined the OACM team as a Physical Therapist Assistant after graduation. He enjoys traveling with his fiancé, hiking with his dog, cooking, and finding new breweries.
Thomas Issermoyer, PTA
- Thomas Issermoyer is a Carroll County native and earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Frostburg State University in 2014. During his time at Frostburg, Thomas played varsity lacrosse and participated in fraternal fundraising philanthropy events. Post-graduation, Thomas Issermoyer found himself as a white-water rafting guide before starting at OACM as a technician in 2016. He acquired his PTA degree from Carroll Community College in 2022 with an interest in sports and orthopedics. In Thomas’s free time he enjoys white water sports, mountain biking, disc golf, hiking, going to the gym, and playing with his dog.
Cortnie Kues, PTA
- Cortnie joined OACM in January 2016 as a physical therapy technician and patient service representative. While in school she continued her position until she received her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Howard Community College in 2023. She has experienced many different physical therapy settings during clinical rotations including home health, outpatient orthopedics, aquatics, pediatrics, and pelvic health. Cortnie has always had a passion for physical therapy since high school when she was a patient at OACM from sports injuries. She grew up on the football field and always took interest in sports related injuries and the athletic trainer position. She really enjoys treating post-operative, sports injuries, and outpatient orthopedic patients. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, the beach, camping, and hiking with family and friends.
Kaitlyn Preston, PTA
- Kaitlyn Preston graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with her degree as a physical therapist assistant in 2017. Since then, she has spent most of her time working in outpatient orthopedic clinics focusing on rehabilitation of post-operative shoulders and knees. Kaitlyn Preston spent most of her time playing basketball and softball growing up, experiencing many injuries of her own as a result. During her time being rehabilitated in physical therapy, it awakened her passion to help others heal. In her free time Kaitlyn enjoys hiking, cooking, walking her dog, and spending time with her family and friends.
Brandi Reese, PTA
- Brandi Reese attended Central Penn College in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she acquired her Physical Therapist Assistant degree in 2014. She has been practicing in the outpatient physical therapy setting for almost nine collective years, with an additional one year of inpatient physical therapy experience, treating a variety of patients from pediatric through geriatric populations. These experiences have allowed her an extensive knowledge of the entire rehabilitation process, from initial injury and hospitalization to full recovery. Brandi is a patient focused therapist, with extensive knowledge in general orthopedics, aquatic therapy, and manual therapy techniques, as well as having prior experience working in the hand specific and work hardening therapy settings. Spending many years as an athlete herself, and going on to coach girls’ volleyball at different levels, Brandi Reese can bring additional approaches to her work as a PTA. Brandi focuses on providing patients with the highest level of individualized care, with concentration on correcting neuromuscular imbalances and restoring normal movement patterns using an exercise-based approach. Brandi designs treatment regimens that conform to the patient’s comfort level and desired results, enabling patients to return to the activities and hobbies they enjoy. She is extremely passionate and enjoys providing a positive, energetic healing environment for her patients.
Lily Tello, PTA
- Lily Tello has over ten years of experience in the field of physical therapy. Lily completed her undergraduate at the University of Maryland College Park and then went onto complete the Anne Arundel Community College program for Physical Therapist Assistant. Lily enjoys providing quality care, providing education to patients on the human body and continuously expanding her own knowledge. She believes in treating the whole person as an individual to get comprehensive results. Lily earned the Commanders Coin of excellence during her time at Fort Meade for her approach which is rooted in ensuring each patient receives the best possible care. On a personal note, Lily is white water kayaker, understanding firsthand the challenges and rewards of pushing one’s physical limits. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve their goals. For Lily Tello, physical therapy is more than a profession; it's a calling. She's committed to making a difference in the lives of her patients, guiding them towards a healthier, happier future. Outside of the clinic, Lily enjoys practicing Taekwondo, Spartan races, hiking, camping, painting, ice skating, swimming, paragliding and traveling.
Our Occupational Therapists
Beth Basham, OTR/L, CHT, GTS
- Beth Basham graduated with honors from Elizabethtown College with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1989 and earned her hand therapy certification in 1998. She was also a student of Modern Studies at Loyola University. Her 30+ years of experience include work with burns, plastic surgery, orthopedics, and general medical/ surgical populations. Beth Basham is a verified open water scuba diver and Pilates/ Yoga enthusiast who also enjoys the outdoors, travel, cooking and quality time with her family and friends.
Gabby Gaimaro, OT
- Gabby Gaimaro has earned her Bachelor degree in kinesiology from The University of Maryland College Park. She then went on to earn her Master degree in occupational therapy from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, FL. While in school Gabby participated in the pro bono outpatient clinic, where she made splints and gained skills in the outpatient setting. Gabby completed her fieldwork in neuro acute care, pediatric intensive care unit, and school setting.
Carrie Schreck, OTR/L
- Carrie Schreck completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in 2022 at Gannon University in an accelerated program. She completed her fieldwork rotations in skilled nursing and inpatient rehabilitation, where she worked with patients to regain strength and to participate in daily life activities post injury. Carrie Schreck has a special interest in treating the hand, wrist and elbow to regain function post operatively or conservatively to strive to relieve pain without surgery. Currently, she has been enjoying working in the outpatient orthopaedic and sports medicine setting.
Genesis Sandoval, OT
- Genesis Sandoval pursued a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science at the University of Maryland, College Park. Through this program, she gained a solid foundation in injury prevention and health promotion, access to care and health equity, workplace health and ergonomics, as well as data collection and research. This background in public health has allowed her to approach healthcare holistically, understanding the broader determinants that impact patient outcomes and well-being. Following her passion for patient-centered care, Genesis earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, Tennessee. During her doctoral studies, she partnered with an outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Rockville, MD, where she focused on developing client-centered patient education. This experience provided her with hands-on expertise in treating upper extremity conditions, further expanding her skills in rehabilitation while ensuring that patient education remained a core element of the care process. Genesis is dedicated to providing tailored, evidence-based interventions that help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. She is committed to delivering compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of each individual. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog.
