Orthopedic Surgeon Specializing in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery
Dr. Khurram Pervaiz is a dual fellowship-trained and board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in hand surgery. He specializes in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery.
Dr. Pervaiz received a scholarship to medical school and earned his medical degree from the King Edward Medical University. He completed a surgical internship at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, followed by his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia.
After his residency, Dr. Pervaiz completed fellowships in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic and in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute.
Dr. Pervaiz has a special interest in shoulder replacement and has published research on the correlation between bone mineral density and fixation techniques for shoulder replacement surgery. His other areas of research include wrist biomechanics, limited wrist fusion, carpal tunnel syndrome, and total elbow replacement. His research has been presented at international meetings, in peer-reviewed journals, and in orthopedic textbooks.
Dr. Pervaiz is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). He serves on several committees for ASSH and The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
As a certified rescue scuba diver, Dr. Khurram Pervaiz loves to spend his free time traveling and exploring the underwater world. He even has his own YouTube channel where you can see his adventures first hand!
